This is an image of the post apocalyptic time with recycled garment that was inspired by

This is an example of a part of my finish garment with the expandex on it and the recycled garment underneath it. I really like the way it looks because to me it looks like what i had in my head when i wanted to use expandex and recycled clothes, i was also inspired by clive rundle who is a south african designer making garment out of old clothes

This is the final design of my garment, it's going to be a jumpsuit with expandex on the surface pattern and recycled garment underneath, the reason i am using expandex is because i wanted to create a recycled look from a post apocalyptic time

this is my other example of working in chosen designer style, i wanted to make different design so i could have an open choice on what i wanted to create

This is my example of my work from a chosen illustrator. my illustrator was steven Broadway, i like the way he works on his template and the way is very stylish, i still wanted create a nice template but still keep in the style of my theme

These template designs was one of my other post apocalyptic design example i thought it was quite successful but i didn't think it was good enough as a final design

This template design is one of my favourite one I was inspired again by Gareth Pugh but i also wanted to create a military look. if I used this design as my final design, I would of used the fabric on the left which was made from heat transfer. overall i though it was successful

These template design were one of my first designs I really like them, because think that it has an edge to it. I was inspired by Gareth Pugh. I think it relates to my tornado theme and recycling, because in my world in will be very hot and very cold so in hot times I will have the garment on the right and in cold times I will have the garment on the left.

Comtepory Fashion illustrators.

Steven Broadway

Steven Boradway is one of my best fashion illustrators, I think that is work is very glamorous and lady like, I wanted tro create an illustration like his, but still keep it within my theme. Steven Broadway's work is very contempory, he also uses a lot of designers examples in his work.
Renaldo Barnette is also one of my favourite fashion Illustrators, his Illustration does not look realistic, but i likr the way he has details on his illustration. the clothes has depth and he uses different proportion on his illustration to create direction.

Graphic's Work

This Illustration by Ayano Moriwake from Ravensbourne University was a good inspiration of how i wanted my illustration

This template is by Anna Boxall from Harrow University. I really like the way the Illustration is done, because I think is very different and really good detailed.

Template by Jackie Mok from Manchester University.#I like the way illustration has a leaf on the side, it makes it very different and it is also relating to the leaf on the dress.

This Illustration by Danile Lee from St Martins was an inspiration for my own illustration, I thought it was one of the only illustration that kind of related to my theme.

This Illustration by Para Manko from London College of Fashion is a favourite of mine, because i like the way, the template has different media on it. This illustration was an inspiration my final design template.

This sample is layering, it is done by pleating bits of fabrics on top of each other and then cutting through them. I did this Sample using my Final Design Fabric to see wether it looked recycled, but it wasn't successful.
So I then added Expandex on the fabric and and used a recycled pocket to create the recycled look i wanted. This fabric manipulation is what i want to make for my final garment.
This is the front of my final garment. i wanted to create a padded one shoulder jumpsuit with a flare at the back attached to a belt so it can be removed when needed. i wanted to do that because in my world the weather is very hard to predict so it cold time the flare can be use as a cover to be warpped around the body and it hot times the flare can be takewn off.

I also wanted a knitted scarf for the change of weather, as the weather in my world is very extreme, so during winter it will be crucial to be properly covered.
This is the back of my garment and the way i want the falre to look from the back.

This Garment was myAdd Image first final garment. i really liked the way it looked and i was inspired by Gareth Pugh collection . I wanted to create a scarf conncected with a skirt through a material in the middle ans have elbow high gloves.
With this garment i wanted to created a demolished and ruined look but still keep it beautiful, but then I did not thinkl it would have been successful with the fabric i was going to use.
I then started to make my landscape. some of these imagery where in fact from a tornado couple years ago, so I though they were good example to use and i also used a graphic imagery of the london's Big Ben in a Post Apocalyptic time were things are burning houses are demolished. I thought this landscape was successful as it really had something to do with my theme. as i found it hard to find something I liked and could relate to for my catastrophe.
I then started to experiment of fabric manipulation as i was clear to what i wanted to do a what fabric i wanted to have. so i created my own surface with Expandex, which is a cream you apply on a surface and then heat, the Expandex then starts to bubble and rise. i wanted to use the Expandex because that was the closest look i got for making my garment looking like it has been recycled. i thought the expewriment was successful, Therefore i decided to proceed on it.
I found this imagery in a magazine and I though it did relate to my Catastrophe and i was really interested to experiment something like that in fabric.
Then i also looked like the garment by prada the model is wearing on the left which looked a bit like the jacket on the right by Rick Owen, these also really insprired me, because I wasn't sure of what shape to make my garment and i thought that those imagery were relateing to my theme and that they looked like they have been recycling and mended into somehting wearable.

This sample is an experiment of different fabrics together to create embelishement. i wanted to cut it in swirls, because i wanted to make a tornado pattern. In order to create the sample, i use different fabrics, a zip, elastic and tassels together and added another fabric on to to saw, then i cut it in a swirly shape, to represent tornado. I think this sample was successful as it also started to give me ideas of what fabric i wanted to use for my final garment
This design template was my first design i wanted to make a dress with button from top to bottom and use the surface fabric on the left, which was done with heat transfer. In order for me to produce the heat transfer i had to put paint on a fabric with tracing paper on top and iron it with a speical iron. the result wasn't very succesfull, as it was suppose to cover the whole fabric but I though i couls use it to experiment with my design.

to me it relates because, I want to make a beautiful garment but still with a demolished, broken look in it, and I though the heat transfer was just right for that.

This picture was the inspiration of my final garment. i found it in the internet on a recylcing fashion site. the garent was made form loads of different other fabric from other clothes, then it was put together. Because in my story there isn't any shop
or new clothes, I also though of recycling as a way to make my garment. Therefore i wanted to created a similar surface pattern as the garment.

Post APOCALYPTIC Project: Theme: TORNADO

This picture is one of my inspiration, as i wanted to createde a garment relating to Destruction. Looking At the aftermeth of a tornado really inspired me with my garment.

This Photographs are a collection of Gareth Pugh, which is one of my favourite designers. i really liked his collection, as it is very unusual and I really though it will be good visuals for my sketchbook work.

Work Evaluation

My research is about Tornado and i collect and information from the internet, news papers, magazines, i designed some images and sew samples.
From my research I've learned a lot about Post Apocalyptic themes and about facts and fiction from my theme which is Tornado.

For this problem the basics of my ideas was to make a post apocalyptic garment that is probably unwearable, but then i changed my idea into making something from recycling stuff.
For this project i didn't really have a plan as such from the beginning, as i wasn't really undestanding the project properly, then i started to take it step by step by writting target for each week in order to finish my work.

I've got my source material from recycled clothes and paper, i chose this because i wanted it to relate to my theme, as in my story the tornado whips everything away, people are only wearing what's available there.

For my theme i decided to knit and saw, while using expandex as well, this is because i want to create an old, and recycled look for my garment but at the same time keep it beautiful.
From my original idea to my final design there were a complete change, because i realised that my design at the time was not going to work, so i changed all my design ideas but i still kelt the them.

My tutor told me to research more designers and do more sample to help to orientate me to what kind of design i want to do.
on my final design, what i consider as my strength is my fabric manipulation, as i am using expandex and I think it makes my garment a little a bit different to a normal garment.
What ii consider as my weakness on my final design is my design, because even though I like the design, I found it difficult too draw it properly.

If i had to do this project again, i would probably change my theme to something that i am more familiar to than something i have to learn about, because at least it would be easy to think of designs and ideas
